Hi - welcome to the B&A RFC Forums. Since most of the votes in the recent poll were in favour of a discussion forum, I thought it would be a good idea to set one up and see if anyone uses it.
I'm keen to get things going, and I hope that we get a bit of a 'Club' atmosphere in here. For many matches, I've sat in the grandstand listening to snippets of conversations about rugby, the Club, and life in general, from home and away fans alike. It occurred to me a while back that this kind of banter can be shared online, and that a properly executed forum was the way to do it.
I'm still reminded of the shortcomings of a forum environment, and the negative side of which can be damaging to a Club. To those naysayers I reply that we're all adults (except the youngsters!) and we should take responsibility for our actions. So long as people realise that stuff posted on here is effectively delivered to the outside world, they should behave accordingly.
I'm not saying don't voice your opinions, that's the point of this whole exercise. I'm saying don't add anything you wouldn't want the RFU to read. Don't personally pick on people. Don't deliberately troll for an argument. Anything that looks dodgy to me will probably get removed though. ;)
Over the next few weeks I expect people (especially those who votes 'yes') to find the forum for the first time, and maybe pluck up enough courage to add a message or two. I've set up some initial forums based on my impression of what's needed. When you all prove me wrong by requesting other forums, I'll swap stuff about a bit. If anyone stands out, I might even relinquish some control and promote some as moderators! With the website the way it is, nothing is set in stone, everything is up for discussion, and I'll take any constructive comments seriously.
Hope this is what you wanted, and please enjoy it! :)
