Scrum Half Tom Kessell signs for Newbury RFC
Report by Richard Walsh
Bridgwater and Albion’s Tom Kessell has left the club to sign for National League One outfit for the coming season.
The
18 year old who is based in Shepton Mallett and has played for Bath
Youth joined ‘Bridgy’ half way through last year and was expected to
return for training along with the rest of the squad earlier this month.
However
when the club’s director of rugby Mike Tewkesbury returned from his
annual holiday, he was informed by youngster’s father that Tom had
signed for Newbury.
‘Tewkes’
said: “I would like to wish Tom every success for his future in the
game, but I have to say that I am a little disappointed about the way
that this has been dealt with.”

Interview with Rob Prescott
Interview by Richard Walsh
Bridgwater and Albion hooker Rob Prescott has been working very hard
during the closed season and at the pre- season training sessions the effects of
his work in the gym with the weights was plain for all to see.
The likeable 26 year old who was born and brought up in Bridgwater has
been playing rugby for the Albion since he was at primary school.
“I first played for the club at Under 9s and have been part of the set up
at the club ever since then really. I then probably played until I was Under 15s
and then had a period away until the second year of the Colts and then been here
ever since pretty much apart from when I was away at university at Nottingham
Trent,” Prescott said.
